Police officer wins six-foot sub at SUBWAY® Fresh Fit menu launch GUALO RAI— A police officer and father of four will have an abundant Father’s Day feast for his extended family after he won a six-foot SUBWAY® sandwich for being the 50th customer to walk in and buy lunch at the SUBWAY® Gualo Rai restaurant during the launch of the Subway® Fresh Fit Menu.

“I was so surprised,” said Andrew Santos. “When I was informed that I won, I told them, ‘You must be kidding.’”

Santos, who was off-duty when he went to SUBWAY®, said he would share the six-foot sub with his family and kin on Father’s Day, which falls on June 17. “I’ll use it for Father’s Day, when we get together with my dad, my grandfather, my brothers that are also fathers, and my brothers-in-law that likewise are fathers. I am very thankful to SUBWAY® ,” he said.

Santos, who has four kids aged six to 14, won the six-feet sub sandwich during the introduction of SUBWAY®‘s latest addition to its wide variety of healthy meals—the“SUBWAY® Fresh Fit” menu for adults and kids. The event was held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 25 at the SUBWAY® Gualo Rai restaurant. Santos walked in as the 50th customer at around 1:00 p.m. Aside from Santos, five other customers won SUBWAY® six-inch and foot-long sandwiches for correctly answering trivia questions during a live radio broadcast by Power 99. Among the winners was Vera Jane Tudela who won a six-inch sub sandwich.

She also ordered a “SUBWAY® Fresh Fit” meal, which earned for her a Subway® Upgrade Coupon. The upgrade coupon will elevate her order of any sandwich on her next visit to a meal with healthy Subway Fresh Fit sides and beverage, including a choice of a fresh apple, Subway® Raisins or Baked! LAY’s potato chips plus a selection of Diet Coke, Dasani bottled water, or reduced fat milk.

“It’s our lucky day,” she said. “We always enjoy eating at SUBWAY®,” she added. Another customer also won a six-inch sub sandwich, while three others won a foot-long sub sandwich each. There were also approximately 35 customers who were given “Upgrade Coupons” for choosing to buy the “SUBWAY® Fresh Fit” menu. The coupons entitle them to free side orders the next time they come to any of SUBWAY®’s three restaurants on Saipan, which are in Gualo Rai, the Paseo de Marianas in Garapan, and Chalan Piao.

“SUBWAY® Fresh Fit” menu for kids, built to fit within the American Heart Association’s approach, is comprised of a choice of a low-fat, four-inch sub sandwich, reduced fat milk or apple juice, plus a choice of an apple or raisins. The menu, which is based on sensible serving sizes, are low in total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, and is a good source of essential nutrients such as vitamin C, calcium and iron.

“SUBWAY® Fresh Fit” meal for adults consists of a choice of a six-inch sub sandwich with six grams of fat or less, Diet Coke, bottled water or reduced fat milk, and a choice of apples, raisins of Baked! LAY’S potato chips.
